VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Join the “growing” community of volunteers who play a vital role in sustaining and developing Collective Roots’ programs that make a difference in the lives of youth and their families. Collective Roots could not exist without this essential support. Please consider sharing your time and expertise with Collective Roots. Volunteers are provided with many different ways to serve…soliciting and bringing donated plants to Collective Roots garden sites, propagating plants, assisting garden teachers, supporting garden based projects, developing curriculum kits and materials, supporting weekly garden club, getting your hands dirty at our Monthly Garden Work Day Events, working in the garden or in the office, and much more. We provide a wide range of opportunities for individuals, students, and groups who are interested in giving just a little time as well as those who are interested in establishing an ongoing relationship. Collective Roots is always seeking volunteers and interns to assist us with a variety of programs, projects and initiatives that support our mission.
Some of our volunteer opportunities are listed at the bottom of this page, and on our Volunteer Match website. In addition, help is needed in the garden, at the farmers' market--and in many other areas. Volunteers can work in-person here in East Palo Alto, and virtually, over the internet, believe it or not! When you're ready, please fill out our quick and easy volunteer application.
If you are representing a business or corporation that is interested in participating in a group event, please contact Wolfram Alderson, Executive Director by clicking here.
INTERNSHIPS
Collective Roots is happy to work with individuals to design a meaningful and rewarding internship experience that fits with scope of our garden-based, environmental and food system work. If you're interested in exploring the options, please send us a note.
