Collective Roots Promotes Bay-Friendly Gardens

Bay-Friendly Gardens mean…

“A holistic approach to gardening and landscaping that works in harmony with the natural conditions of the San Francisco Bay Watershed. Bay-Friendly practices foster soil health, conserve water and other valuable resources while reducing waste and preventing pollution.”

Collective Roots has become part of the Bay-Friendly school garden network.  We are "a model for how to tie environmental practices to classroom curricula, and how school gardens can protect local watersheds and the Bay.  Here is an image that portrays the elements of this program:
